THE MUNICIPALITY OF ČAJNIČE IS LOCATED IN THE NORTH-EASTERN PART OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA (BIH), CLOSE TO THE BORDER LINE WITH MONTENEGRO ON AN AREA OF 275 KM2. THE TRIPLE BORDER IS NOT FAR AWAY: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA (BIH) - SERBIA - MONTENEGRO, WHICH REPRESENTS A FAVORABLE GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION. THE TERRITORY OF THE MUNICIPALITY BORDERS THE MUNICIPALITIES: RUDO, FOČA, GORAŽDE, NOVO GORAŽDE, PLJEVLJA AND PRIBOJ.

The area is characterized by a developed hydrographic network and a very differentiated forest cover (77.37% of the total area of the municipality), which is also the basic natural resource of the municipality. Čajniče area is famous for the micro-location of Fairy Beeches, near the village of Batotići, that are believed to be endemic. There are 257 permanent springs registered in the source cadastre.
The municipality of Čajniče has all the prerequisites for tourism development, and thus the hospitality industry, because it has attractive natural beauties and an ecologically clean environment. Climatic conditions with plenty of snow are a prerequisite for the development of winter tourism. In terms of religious tourism, the Čajniče church with the miraculous icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary is famous not only in the area of the municipality but also much wider, which is visited by a large number of believers and curious people every year. Čajniče is also famous for the first Nature Park in Republika Srpska – “Cicelj”, declared as a protected area in 2018. The area also offers great opportunities for the hunting tourism as well as rural tourism.
