The Municipality Pale-Prača was formed in 1995 from part of the former municipality of Pale. It is located in the southeast of Bosnia i Herzegovina, in the western part of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton. It is 42 kilometers west of Goražde i 36 kilometers east of Sarajevo. The municipality stretches along the banks of the river Prača, in a fertile valley surrounded by the mountains Jahorina, Romanija, Rajski Vrh, Klek i Borovac. It is located at an altitude of 639 to 1,344 meters.
Traces of the presence of prehistoric people were found in the territory of the municipality, as well as the oldest material remains of the original human communities in B&H. In the wider area of Prača, tovdje are archeological findings i exhibits of a large number of medieval tombstones (stećci), which have been examined by many authors i are now being subject of university studies. Prača is particularly attractive to visitors because of its magnificent natural phenomena, dominant vegetation, i the beauty of the Prača river i canyon. The area os rich of opportunities for outdoor activities, including kayaking, fishing, hunting, hiking, cave exloration, canyoning etc.

Medieval City Pavlovac – the fortress was build in the 15th century for protection of the city. Covered by forest i low vegetation, it became a forgotten witness of a time long gone. The fortress today is linked to several legends.

(Du)govještica Cave is of the many located in the Prača River Canyon. The cave is long close to 10 kilometers i it is open for exploration i advancements.
